Uttarakhand / Champawat: Shaheed Parkash Singh Motor Road in bad condition

Shaheed Lansnayak Parkash Singh Motor Road, built from Chhamnian to Patangaon Jhumadhuri Mela site link road, is lying in a bad condition. Drivers are forced to travel risking their lives on bumpy motorways. The villagers, expressing their displeasure against Lonvi, have raised the demand for asphaltization on the motorway.
Villagers say that about three years ago, a one kilometer motor road was constructed from Chhamnian to Patangaon Jhumadhuri Mela site in the name of Shaheed Lansnayak Prakash Singh on behalf of Lonvi. Since then this motorway is not being taken care of. The debris from the rock has reached half the motorway. Also, there are no drains along the motorway, which creates a lot of trouble for the drivers in the movement.
People say that it is quite a shortcut way to go from Chhamaniya to Pithoragarh NH. Lots of people move from here. Villagers said that Lonvi has done this by putting a board in the name of the martyr, which is also an insult to the martyr.
In the past the asphalt was done on the motorway. The asphalt is crumbling on about 200 meters of the road. Repair work will be done when the weather is favorable. -BC Bhandari, EE Lonivi Lohaghat.
