Uttarakhand / Haldwani : Jal Sansthan has been sending water bill for two years to the family without connection

A feat of the Jal Sansthan (Haldwani Jal Sansthan) has come to the fore. Water bills are being sent every month to a family without drinking water connection. The consumer did not get the drinking water connection for 2 years, but the Jal Sansthan definitely paid a huge bill every month for two years. In such a situation, the consumer is wandering from door to door to waive the water bill, but the officials are not taking the matter seriously.
Jal Sansthan is accepting negligence in this whole matter and is talking about resolving this problem soon. Lady Deepa, a resident of Sai Nagar, Haldwani, says that in March 2020, her father-in-law Dhaniram had applied to the Jal Sansthan to get water connection under the ‘Har Ghar Nal, Har Ghar Jal’ scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission. After cutting a receipt of ₹ 26, it was said that soon you will have a water connection. But there was no water connection since 2 years. On the contrary, the department is sending huge bills every month. A bill of about ₹ 5500 has been sent by the Jal Sansthan so far. The victim woman says that she has traveled from the Jal Sansthan to the commissioner’s court to get the water connection installed and waive the bill. But it is not being heard. Jal Sansthan is sending bill without connection.
In this entire matter, Executive Engineer Jal Sansthan Sanjay Srivastava says that the matter is between Jal Sansthan and Jal Nigam. The Executive Engineer says that the consumer’s house had to have a drinking water connection through the Jal Nigam. But the Jal Sansthan employees had cut the receipt, due to which the bill is being sent by the department. Soon after disposal of this matter, action will be taken to waive the bill. Drinking water connection will be made available to the consumer through Jal Nigam.
