Uttarakhand / Pauri : cracks coming in the houses due to blasting
Villagers and UKD activists of Sweet, Basoliyou, Dhamak, Dikholyu, Dugripanth, Narkota, Chopra, Hydil Colony, Srinagar, Saud have complained to the DM about cracks in their houses due to the blasting under the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project. The villagers and UKD activists have raised the demand for compensation to these affected villagers while investigating these houses. It has been warned that if the problem is not resolved soon, there will be agitation from August 6.
On Monday, UKD and local villagers met the DM. During this, UKD District President Chandramohan Gusain, Vipin, Darshan Singh Rawat, Anita Tiwari, Manish Bhatt, Mukesh Bisht etc. said that the blasting happening under the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project has resulted in Sweet, Basoliou, Dhamak, Dikholyu, Dungripanth, Narkota, Chopra, There are cracks in the houses in Hydil Colony, Srinagar, Saud. Said that the villagers are troubled by the overnight blasting. Many houses are on the verge of collapse. He has raised the demand of the DM to be given compensation while investigating these houses. Said that if the problem is not resolved soon, from August 6, UKD and villagers will be forced to go on a fast unto death along with stopping the work of railways.
