The loss of Tata Motors crossed Rs 5000 crore, more than a year ago
The country’s leading auto company Tata Motors Limited has released its June quarter results. During the April-June quarter, the loss of Tata Motors has crossed Rs 5,000 crore. It had reported a loss of Rs 4,450.92 crore to the company in the year-ago period. However, Tata Motors’ revenue rose to Rs 71,934.66 crore during the June quarter, as against Rs 66,406.05 crore in the year-ago period.
Tata Motors’ British arm Jaguar Land Rover saw a 11.3 per cent year-on-year decline in sales. Tata Motors said Jaguar Land Rover’s retail sales for the June quarter stood at 78,825 vehicles, which is flat compared to the March quarter. At the same time, 37 percent less than the year-ago quarter.
Share price increased: Before the quarterly results, the share of Tata Motors registered an increase on the BSE index. The share price was Rs 443.95, which is 0.66% higher than the day before.
