West Bengal : A pile of notes found at another house of Arpita Mukherjee, ED called for 5 machines for counting
There is also news of getting a huge amount of cash from another flat of Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide of West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee. ED team has reached the spot. Machines have also been called here to count money. This second house of Arpita is in Belgharia Town Club of Kolkata. Earlier, an amount of more than Rs 21 crore was found from a house of Arpita Mukherjee and important papers were in hand.
Five machines have been procured from RBI for counting notes. Earlier, during raids at Diamond City Complex in Tollygunge, ED had recovered over Rs 21 crore in cash from Arpita Mukherjee’s flat. On Wednesday, the ED raided six locations including Arpita Mukherjee’s flat in Belgharia, Kasba Rajdanga, Barasat’s sari shop. A team of 15 officers reached Arpita’s flat in Belgharia. Arpita has total two flats in Belgharia Housing. The ED is also raiding many other locations.
When the officials of the investigating agency reached this flat, it was locked. After breaking the lock, the officers entered inside and saw that there is also a pile of money. Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Mukherjee are currently in ED custody till August 3. Parth had to be admitted to the Investigation Hospital after his arrest. He is constantly being questioned about the education recruitment scam.
Minister Partha Chatterjee has been arrested in the teacher recruitment scam in the state. His interrogation continues. In this case, many documents have been found from his house. ED is probing everyone.
