MiG-21 plane crashes in Rajasthan’s Barmer, 2 pilots martyred

The MiG-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force has crashed in Barmer, Rajasthan. MiG-21 has crashed in Bhimda village of Barmer. People have seen huge flames of fire with a loud bang. There was panic in the village due to the information of MiG-21 crash. The debris of the plane also spread within a radius of half a kilometer. The administration has left for the spot. In this accident, both the pilots were martyred.

A gruesome video of the crash has surfaced after the accident. The Air Force said that facts about the accident were being collected. Barmer District Collector Lok Bandhu said, “It was an Air Force plane that crashed near Bhimda village.”

The Indian Air Force said that both the pilots of the MiG-21 trainer aircraft lost their lives in the accident. Indian Air Force deeply regrets and stands firmly with the bereaved families. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Defense Minister took information from Air Force Chief

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari on the crash of the fighter plane. The Air Force Chief has given them detailed information about the incident.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed grief over this accident. He tweeted and wrote, “Deeply saddened by the loss of two air warriors in the MiG-21 trainer aircraft crash of Indian Air Force near Barmer in Rajasthan. Their service to the nation will never be forgotten. In this hour of grief My condolences are with the bereaved families.”

Several MiG-21 crashes in the last few years

The MiG Mi-21 Bison aircraft began to be inducted by the Indian Air Force in the 1960s. The Indian Air Force has lost several MiG-21 aircraft and other aircraft in various accidents over the years. Presently the Indian Air Force has about six squadrons of MiG-21 Bison and a squadron consists of about 18 aircraft.
