Shubman Gill’s bat played fiercely in IND vs WI ODI series, won Man of the Series award along with Man of the Match

Shubman Gill, who scored 205 runs in the three-match ODI series against West Indies at an average and strike rate of over 100, was adjudged the man of the series. Gill played an innings of 98 not out in the last One Day International match of the series and was also adjudged man of the match. In this series, Gill played innings of 64, 43 and 98 not out. In the last match, Gill had a chance to score a century, but due to rain, he could not score a century.

India scored 225 runs for three wickets in 35 overs, according to the Duckworth-Lewis method, West Indies got a target of 257 runs in 35 overs, in response to which the Caribbean team was all out for just 137 runs. Shubman Gill has shown in this series that he is all set to open the innings in the limited overs format as well. Shubman Gill has consolidated his place in Tests and after this series, it is not going to be easy for the team management to keep him out in One Day Internationals as well.

Gill scored a total of 205 runs in this series on the basis of two half-centuries at a strike rate of 102.50 and the same average. He along with caretaker captain Shikhar Dhawan got the team off to a good start. The Indian team was playing this series without veteran players like Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, so this cleansweep becomes even more special. Apart from this, for the first time in the history of 39 years, India has made a clean sweep in the ODI series in the West Indies.
