US Federal Reserve again hikes interest rates, RBI may also give a blow
America’s central bank, the Federal Reserve, has raised interest rates for the third time in a row. He has taken this step with the aim of controlling inflation. Inflation in America has reached the highest level of 41 years. The US Federal Reserve has increased interest rates by 0.75 percent. This is the fourth consecutive increase by the US central bank. This level of growth is the highest since 1994. The Federal Reserve’s target is to contain inflation, which has reached a 41-year high of 9.1 percent. The rise in US interest rates can also have an impact on the value of the rupee against the dollar. The rupee is already around 80 against the dollar and after the strengthening of the dollar, the selling of foreign investors may intensify, due to which it is natural to affect the rupee. In India too, the level of inflation is still at a worrying level and the Reserve Bank may increase interest rates for the third time during the monetary policy review in August.
