Uttarakhand : 108 ambulance did not come, the child on the road

The woman, who arrived with her husband from Dehradun to Haridwar railway station in search of work, started having labor pains. In the city, the unknown couple lost their way and instead of going to the women’s hospital, they reached Bilvakeshwar Road. When the 108 ambulance did not reach here on time, the woman gave birth to a child on the road itself. The mother-child was admitted to the Women’s Hospital by an ambulance that arrived later.

Rambabu, a resident of village Dumri in Motihari district of Bihar, used to work as a mason on Sahasradhara Road in Dehradun. After his work here, he came to Haridwar with his pregnant wife Reena in search of work. According to the information, on Thursday night, the labor couple reached Haridwar station with children by train. While getting down at the station, the woman Reena started having labor pains. People suggested him to go to Mahila Hospital. But instead of going to the Women’s Hospital, being their first in the city, the couple reached the road outside the blood bank of the Mela Hospital on Bilwakeshwar Road. Here the woman’s labor pain intensified.

During this, someone called 108 ambulance, but by the time the ambulance arrived, the woman gave birth to a child. Later, when the ambulance arrived, the mother and child were placed in it. After this, at 02:50 in the night, Jazza-Bacha was admitted to the women’s hospital.

There was a call for the delivery of the woman at two o’clock in the night. Due to which an ambulance was made available on the spot at 2:20 minutes. But by then the child had already been born. The post-delivery work was also done in the ambulance itself. Later, he was safely admitted to the Women’s Hospital.

In the conversation, the woman told that this is her seventh child. In which three children have already died. Now with the birth of another child, he has three sons and a daughter.

The family is very poor. This is the reason why he could not even rickshaw to the women’s hospital and set out on foot. The pregnant woman also kept walking for about a kilometer in search of the hospital. Due to which after the child was born on the road, the father took off his clothes and covered his body.

Ambulance workers gave 30 rupees
When the ambulance personnel reached the spot to get the pregnant woman admitted to the hospital, they were stunned to see the poverty condition of the woman and her family there. He gave 30 rupees from his pocket to drink tea for the woman and her children.

Such was the delay in reaching the ambulance
It is said that when the 108 ambulance was called, the ambulance service of the nearby Mela Hospital was asked to go there. But the driver refused to take the poisoned patient after being admitted to the hospital, citing that he had cleaned the vomit from his car. When an ambulance standing in Rishikul was contacted, it was going to get oil filled. Later an ambulance parked at Bahadarabad police station, which had come to drop someone in the hospital itself, was sent to the spot.
Necessary vaccination has been given to the hospitalized newborn. Both are being provided with the health facilities available in the hospital. The woman and her baby are completely healthy.
