Jaishankar and Bilawal taunted each other in SCO

The differences between India and Pakistan were clearly visible in the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. While India insisted on the use of Chabahar port for connectivity between Asia and Europe, Pakistan heated up the atmosphere by referring to CPEC. In this meeting, India was represented by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, while the newly-minted Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari participated from Pakistan’s side. India has developed Iran’s Chabahar port, while CPEC is an ambitious connectivity project between China and Pakistan.
Jaishankar slammed Pakistan on terrorism
Addressing the meeting, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the world is facing energy and food crisis due to COVID pandemic and Ukraine conflict. He emphasized that both these crises should be resolved immediately. Not only this, Jaishankar also spoke fiercely about terrorism in the presence of Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He called upon the member countries to adopt a zero tolerance policy against all forms of terrorism. Let us tell you that Pakistan is the biggest supplier of terrorism in the whole world. This is the reason why India has put off bilateral talks with Pakistan.
India and Pakistan clash over Chabahar and CPEC
In the meeting of foreign ministers of SCO countries held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan, S Jaishankar stressed on the use of Chabahar port of Iran. At the same time, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto referred to the CPEC. The two leaders separately expressed their views on connectivity between Eurasia. However, S Jaishankar’s experience was overshadowed by Bilawal Bhutto’s. Bilawal became the Foreign Minister of Pakistan just two months back. He does not have any experience in diplomatic relations and foreign policy. His inexperience was clearly seen in the SCO meeting too.
Jaishankar invites SCO countries to use Chabahar
Jaishankar mentioned India’s support to the Afghan people with coronavirus vaccine, wheat and medicines. Apart from this, he also welcomed Iran’s entry into the SCO. He emphasized that SCO member countries can use the Chabahar port. Jaishankar met the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan before the meeting. The next day he held meetings with SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming, besides his Uzbek and Kyrgyz counterparts. Jaishankar also met the President of Uzbekistan along with the foreign ministers of China, Russia and Pakistan.
