Rajasthan / Banswara: Suspected of illicit relationship, husband tied wife and her friend to a tree and beat her fiercely for seven hours, FIR registered
In Banswara district of Rajasthan, a husband tied the tree to a tree and beat up his wife. Seeing the wife with her friend, the angry husband tied both of them to the tree. After this, the sticks of both of them were tied and beaten for seven hours. Someone made a video of this whole incident which is now going viral on social media. The police have registered a case and arrested five accused in the case. Police say that the accused are being interrogated.
According to the information received from the police, the video surfaced late on Friday night. After which information was gathered about the victim’s wife and the accused husband. After this, the investigation of the case has been started after taking a complaint from the family members of the woman. Police said that the whole matter has happened on suspicion of illicit relationship. The victim woman had gone to the house of her mother-in-law along with her friend. With both of them together, he felt that there was a love affair between them. On the basis of suspicion, he took both of them hostage. Along with this, the husband and in-laws of the woman were also called. The husband, who reached the spot, tied both of them to a tree and beat them for about seven hours.
Met a friend on the way
The victim woman Champa told that she had gone to Ghatol town on July 24 for some work. Where he found his old friend Devilal. The two talked for some time, after which Devi Lal told Champa to leave her maternal mother-in-law. Champa went there with him. After this the whole incident happened. Police have taken five accused into custody in the case.
BJP leader targets Priyanka
BJP leader Laxmikant Bhardwaj has attacked Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi over the incident. He tweeted and wrote – See the culmination of atrocities against a woman in Banswara, Rajasthan, Priyanka Gandhi ji, is this the girl I can fight? Let us tell you that in the Uttar Pradesh elections, Priyanka had given the slogan Ladki Hoon Ladge Sakti Hoon.
Commission took cognizance
Here, the National Commission for Women has taken cognizance of the woman being tied to a tree and beaten up. Commission’s chairperson Rekha Sharma has written a letter to DGP Rajasthan asking to register a case. Along with this, the commission has also demanded the immediate arrest of all the accused and to ensure better treatment and protection for the victim.
