Uttarakhand: BJP announced the new state president, Mahendra Bhatt got the command

On Saturday, the BJP announced the name of the new state president amid speculations that the state president of the BJP would be changed in Uttarakhand. The central leadership has handed over the command of the state to former Badrinath MLA Mahendra Bhatt. Former BJP MLA Mahendra Bhatt had a meeting with the party’s national president JP Nadda in Delhi on Wednesday. Since then there was speculation that the party is going to choose a new state president. Earlier, the command of the state BJP was in the hands of senior and experienced leader Madan Kaushik. After the assembly elections, there were discussions about handing over the command of the organization to a Brahmin leader of Garhwal Mandal in place of Kaushik.
It is being told that after the announcement of the name, he will now go to meet Madan Kaushik at his residence. After this both will go to the party office. There former state president Madan Kaushik will duly hand over the charge to him.

- Held the responsibility of State Co-Minister, District Convenor, District Organization Minister, Department Organization Minister in Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad from 1991 to 1996.
- In 1997, he was the state co-minister of BJP Yuva Morcha.
- From 1998 to 2000, took over the responsibility of State General Secretary in Uttaranchal Yuva Morcha.
- At the time of state formation from 2000 to 2002, he was the first state president of Uttaranchal Pradesh Yuva Morcha.
- From 2002 to 2005, the member of Yuva Morcha National Working Committee – took charge of the state in-charge of Himachal and Maharashtra Yuva Morcha.
- At the age of 32, in the first election of Uttarakhand from 2002 to 2007, 39 members were elected from Nandprayag Vidhan Sabha and took over the responsibility of Chief Whip in the Legislature.

- In the 2017 assembly elections, he was elected as a member of the Badrinath assembly.
- In the Ramjanmabhoomi movement, he was imprisoned for 15 days in Kanskhet, Pauri.
- Stayed in Pauri Jail for five days during the Uttarakhand State Movement.
