Sanjay Arora will be the new Police Commissioner of Delhi, replacing Rakesh Asthana

IPS Sanjay Arora will be the new Police Commissioner of Delhi. He will replace Rakesh Asthana. Sanjay Arora, a 1988 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS, has also been the Director General of ITBP. Sanjay Arora commanded the battalion of ITBP in Matli, Uttarakhand from 1997 to 2000.

IPS Sanjay Arora did his graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur (Rajasthan). After becoming IPS, he worked in various positions in Tamil Nadu Police. He was the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Special Task Force. Where he achieved significant success against the Veerappan gang. He was awarded the Chief Minister’s Gallantry Medal for gallantry and gallant action.

In 1991, Sanjay Arora took training from NSG. After this, he played an important role in the formation of the Special Security Group (SSG), which was posted under the security of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. In fact, the activities of LTTE were at their peak in those days. In such a situation, he also took charge as the Superintendent of Police in various districts of Tamil Nadu.

Sanjay Arora is one of the few IPS who came to the post of commandant on deputation in the paramilitary force. IPS Sanjay Arora served in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on deputation as Commandant from 1997 to 2002. From 1997 to 2000, he commanded a border guarding force of the ITBP battalion in Matli, Uttarakhand. As an instructor, Sanjay Arora made remarkable contributions to the ITBP Academy from 2000 to 2002. Along with this, Sanjay was serving as Commandant (Combat Wing) in Mussoorie.

Sanjay Arora also served as the Commissioner of Police of Coimbatore City from 2002 to 2004. Thereafter he took over as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Villupuram Range. Sanjay Arora has worked as IG (Special Operations) BSF, IG Chhattisgarh Sector CRPF and IG Operations CRPF.

Has been honored with many medals

Sanjay Arora has been honored with medals including the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2004, the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2014, the Police Special Duty Medal, the Internal Security Medal and the United Nations Peace Medal, among others.

Farewell parade to be held at 4 pm today

At the same time, Rakesh Asthana’s one-year term is ending today, so preparations for the Farewell Parade have been completed. There will be a farewell program in the police line at 4 pm. Actually, whenever the Delhi Police Commissioner retires, he is given a farewell parade.
