A video of Indian star sprinter Hima Das went viral very fast on Saturday, which was accepted by many as the truth and fell into misunderstanding. One of them was former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who could not differentiate between true and false. Due to this, he now also had to become a victim of trolling on social media.
In fact, 3 days before the start of track and field events in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (Commonwealth Games 2022), the video related to Hima got more than 3 thousand likes and it was retweeted more than 6 thousand times. In this, Hima Das was claimed to have won the gold medal, which Sehwag shared on his account and even congratulated him. But, after that he got trolled fiercely.

In fact, in a video posted on Twitter with the name ‘Pigassus’, it was claimed that Hima Das won the 400m gold medal in Birmingham. While this video is from the Under-20 World Athletics Championships held in Tampere, Finland in the year 2018, when the runner from Assam became the first Indian to win gold in the championship. Sehwag also got caught in the trap of this video and in a tweet from his official Twitter handle, he said that the star runner has won the gold medal in the 400 meters event of the Commonwealth Games.
However, as soon as Sehwag came to know about this wrong information, he deleted this tweet. But, by then this tweet on his behalf had gone viral and Veeru had come under the trolls’ target. He wrote in the caption of his tweet that, ‘What a wonderful victory! Great start by Indian players. Many congratulations to Hima Das for winning the gold medal in the 400m event of the Commonwealth Games. It’s a shame.
