Uttar Pradesh : This country’s flag is not compulsory in the constitution, why should it be hoisted at every house – SP MP Shafiqur Rahman

Yes, this is the flag of the country. The people of the country put it. Referring to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, he said that they do not consider us to be of the country. The socialist MP, who is participating in the monsoon of Parliament, has brought the campaign to hoist the national flag into question. He said that nowhere in the Constitution it has been made mandatory to hoist the tricolor on the houses. Then what is the need for this type of campaign? The SP MP’s statement came a day after party president Akhilesh Yadav’s appeal to hoist the tricolor at every house from August 9 to 15.
The country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of its independence. 75 years ago on 15 August 1947, the country got freedom from British rule. In honor of the great festival of independence, the Har Ghar Tricolor campaign has been started by the Central Government. Through this, people are trying to develop a sense of respect for the national flag of their country. At the same time, efforts are being made to explain the meaning of 75-year-old independence through the tricolor. However, now this campaign seems to be getting caught in the face of political opposition. After the statement of Shafiqur Rahman Burke, MP from Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh, now the debate about this campaign has intensified.
Said not to be mentioned in the constitution
SP MP Shafiqur Rahman, while talking to a TV channel, said that it has not been made necessary in the constitution that the tricolor should be hoisted at every house. The SP MP also linked this campaign to the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He said that there is publicity in his every plan and policy. 2024 is visible to them. Referring to the constitution on PM Modi’s appeal to hoist the tricolor at every house, the MP said that there is no such compulsion in the constitution. What is the need of tricolor in every house?
People put the flag of their own free will
The SP MP said that the man puts up the flag of his own free will. He carries the flag of his party. The tricolor is the flag of the country. Why should we put it in our homes? When asked whether this is not your country? On this the MP said that we agree, but they (the ruling party) do not believe. If it is not necessary even in the constitution, then what is the need to hoist it at every house. He said that the tricolor is the flag of the country, it should be hoisted at the offices of the country.
On the question made on the importance of the flag of the country, Shafiqur Rahman Burke said that it is our will to put the flag. The flag of the country is put up by the people of the country. Diverting the matter on the question of not being of the country, Shafiqur Rahman said that we are from the country, but we belong to the opposition. They do not consider us to be of the country. We consider ourselves to be of the country. On the question of whether to put the flag or not, the MP said that it has not been looked into yet.
After BJP, Akhilesh also supports
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign run by the central government has been supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Party workers are organizing this program from village to city to commemorate 75 years of independence. At the same time, SP President Akhilesh Yadav also supported this program on Tuesday. He appealed to hoist the tricolor at every house in the entire state from 9 to 15 August on the occasion of completion of 75 years of independence. He said that the nation’s pride is the tricolor and it should be hoisted with full respect. However, now his own MP has heated up the atmosphere by giving his different opinion on this issue.
