Sudhir created history by winning medals in parapavarlifting, gave India sixth gold in Commonwealth Games

In the Commonwealth Games, Para Powerlifter Sudhir created history. He won a big feat by winning the gold medal for India. India’s Commonwealth Games has now become a total of 6 gold medals. Sudhir took the gold medal by lifting 212 kg weight. This is the first time India won the gold medal in this event.

Sudhir created history

Sudhir has become the first athlete to win the gold in paragraph powerlifting for India. Sudhir is the first Indian player to win a gold medal in the Para Powerlifting Competition of the Commonwealth Games. He won the gold medal with a record 134.5 points by lifting 212 kg in his second attempt. Sudhir, however, failed to lift 217 kg in his last attempt.

These players get silver medal

Ikachukavu Christian Ubichukvu of Nigeria won silver with 133.6 points and Mickey Ella of Scotland won bronze with 130.9 points. Christian lifted 197 kg while Elve lifted 192 kg.

Manpreet missed the medal

Earlier, Manpreet Kaur and Sakina Khatoon missed the medal while finishing fourth and fifth respectively in the women’s lightweight finals, while Paramjit Kumar finished final after failing all three attempts in the men’s lightweight final. Manpreet lifted 87 kg in her first attempt and 88 kg in the second attempt, but failed to lift 90 kg in the third attempt. Manpreet got 89.6 marks.
