Uttarakhand / Pauri : Obstacles being put in drinking water construction work, complaint to DM

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the construction work of a drinking water scheme is going on in the Gram Panchayat Kaliasaur. The village head and the villagers have complained to the DM about a villager obstructing the construction of drinking water scheme for Bagwan Laga Chopra village of the panchayat. DM has given necessary directions to the executive engineers of Jal Nigam, PWD construction block, PWD NH section in the matter.
Village head Savitri Devi of Kaliyasaur Gram Panchayat of Khirsu block and villagers met District Magistrate Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande after reaching Pauri at Headquarters. Pradhan Savitri Devi informed that the construction work of drinking water scheme is being carried out in Bagwan Laga Chopra village of Gram Panchayat to improve drinking water system. Its natural source is in Bhattisera village, which is the ancestral drinking water source of the villagers of Bagwan Laga Chopra village. Despite this, a villager of Jamsali village is working to obstruct the construction work of drinking water scheme. Said that in the said rural area, it has been affecting many development works including damage to the irrigation canal. Pradhan said that the laborers engaged in the construction work of drinking water scheme are also being threatened with death if this villager works. Pradhan said that the drinking water line of water supply in Kaliasaur village of Panchayat has been damaged due to debris coming on Badrinath National Highway and a link road. DM Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande informed that the Executive Engineers of Jal Nigam, PWD construction block and PWD NH division Srinagar are required to carry out the construction work of drinking water scheme, repair of damaged drinking water pipeline in Gram Panchayat Kaliasaur. Guidelines have been given. Villagers also complained about the matter to SSP Pauri. The SSP assured the villagers of affirmative action. Villagers Vimla Painuli, Rajji Bangwal, Kamlesh Kumar, Sudha Devi, Bharti etc. were present on this occasion.
