Bobby Kataria put the lives of passengers in danger by smoking in the plane, SpiceJet clarified
A video is going viral on social media these days. In this video, a man is seen smoking a cigarette inside a SpiceJet plane. This gentleman is Bobby Kataria, a bodybuilder living in Gurugram district of Haryana. This is a serious matter of security breach. Due to this act of Kataria, the lives of the passengers could have been put in danger. Questions are being raised that despite the tight security at the airport, how did Bobby Kataria reach the plane with a cigarette and lighter. Meanwhile, SpiceJet has issued a clarification in this entire matter.
SpiceJet said in a statement that a video of a passenger smoking a cigarette inside a SpiceJet aircraft is doing the rounds on social media. The matter was thoroughly investigated in January 2022. Then the matter came to the notice of the company and a complaint was registered in this regard at Udyog Vihar police station in Gurugram. Investigation revealed that the video was shot on 20 January 2022 when the passengers were boarding the Dubai to Delhi flight SG 706. The cigarette smoking passenger and his companions shot this video in the 21st row. During that time the cabin crew was busy with the on-boarding procedure. None of the passengers or crew knew about this. The airline came to know about this through social media on January 24, 2022.
15 days ban
SpiceJet said the matter was referred to the internal committee. This committee was constituted in accordance with the provisions made regarding handling of abusive passengers. None of the SpiceJet employees were involved in this. In February 2022, this passenger was put on the no-flying list for 15 days. Bobby Kataria has also given a clarification after the controversy. In a conversation with a private news channel, Bobby Kataria said that the video of cigarette smoking in the plane was not shot in India but abroad. Kataria claims that the video was shot for his biopic which will come out in 2023.

He hails from Gurugram, Haryana. He has more than six lakh followers on Instagram. Kataria, who is fond of body building, describes himself as a social worker. He was also arrested in December 2017 for creating a ruckus at the Gurugram police station and allegedly attacking policemen.
