Uttarakhand / Khatima : Death of a bike rider returning home after leaving his wife’s in-laws house

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a bike rider who was returning home after leaving his wife’s in-laws’ house, died due to a collision with an unknown vehicle. This caused a furore among the relatives. The police handed over the body to the relatives after conducting the post-mortem. The deceased was the only lamp of the family.

32-year-old Pankaj Singh Rana, son of Harish Babu, resident of Bhud Maholia village, had gone to his in-laws’ house, Chandpur with his wife on a bike on the Raksha Bandhan festival on Friday. Late in the evening, he was returning home after leaving his wife’s in-laws’ house. Meanwhile, an unknown vehicle hit his bike near Lohia bridge on Sitarganj road. In which he got seriously injured and fell on the road. Nearby people took him to the sub-district hospital by 108 service. Where the doctor Dr. Aklim Ahmed declared him dead. The police kept the body in the mortuary late in the night. On Saturday, a Panchnama-filled post-mortem of his body was done. After which the body was handed over to the relatives. The deceased Pankaj was the only lamp in the house. She has a younger sister Kanchan Rana. The deceased has left behind his wife Sapna Devi and five-year-old son Rajanbh and parents weeping. The deceased’s uncle Omprakash told that Pankaj was returning home after leaving his wife in-laws house. That’s when the accident happened.
