Rajasthan: Dalit student drinks water from teacher’s pot, child dies due to beating; Tension in the area, internet suspended

In Jalore district of Rajasthan, a case of death of a Dalit student has come to light due to the beating of a teacher. The incident is of a private school in Surana village of Sayla police station area of the district, where a Dalit student was brutally thrashed by the teacher, due to which he had to be admitted to the hospital, where he died during treatment. In the whole case, it is alleged that the Dalit student drank water from the pot of the operator of the private school. He was brutally beaten up for this.
The student received internal injuries due to the beating. In such a situation, his family first admitted him to the local hospital, then took him to Ahmedabad, where he died. The student has been identified as Indra Kumar, a class III student at Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Surana village. In the whole case, the uncle of the deceased student, Kishore Kumar, has filed a case against the school operator, Khail Singh, for assaulting, using caste words, humiliating and killing the student after the assault at the Sayla police station.
The report said that on July 20, Indra went to school as usual, where, when he was thirsty, he drank water from a pot of water kept in the school. But that matka was kept separately for teacher Chail Singh. On getting information about this, the operator humiliated the child with racist words and assaulted the child, causing internal injuries in his right ear and eye. The student informed his father about the incident, after which he was continuously treated in different hospitals, but on August 13, Indra died during treatment.
At present, the police has started investigation by registering a case of murder including SC-ST Act in the whole matter. At the same time, the police has also taken the operator of the private school into custody. Here, after the incident, tension has increased in the area, due to which, as per the instructions of the government, the internet service in the area has been stopped till further notice.
An inquiry committee has also been formed by the Chief Block Education Officer to investigate the matter. In the notice issued by him, it was told that a case of beating of a child by the teacher in Saraswati Vidya Mandir came to light, after which an order has been given to send a factual report. The investigation has been entrusted to Panchayat Elementary Education Officer Ashok Kumar Dave and Pratap Ram. A factual report has also been sought from the education department.
The boy’s father said, “My child was beaten up by him (teacher) to drink water from the pot and hurled casteist abuses. The boy suffered a brain haemorrhage due to the beating. I took him to Udaipur for treatment and then to Ahmedabad, where he died.” happened.”

Murder against the accused teacher and sections of the SC / ST Act. The case has been registered and arrest has been made in the case. The case has been taken up under the Case Officer Scheme for speedy investigation of the case and speedy punishment to the guilty. Justice will be ensured to the victim’s family at the earliest. Rs. 5 lakh assistance to the relatives of the deceased The amount will be given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.”
