Uttarakhand : Chandrashekhar was martyred in Operation Meghdoot 38 years ago, body found in Siachen, funeral will be held tomorrow

At the same time, the body of Lance Naik Chandrashekhar, who was martyred in Siachen in Operation Meghdoot 38 years ago, will be brought to his house in Haldwani. Let us inform that about four decades ago, Chandrashekhar, originally a resident of Dwarahat in Almora district, was martyred in Operation Meghdoot in Siachen. His body was found yesterday.

Chandrashekhar was in the Kumaon Regiment: Jawan Chandrashekhar Harbola in the 19 Kumaon Regiment died on 29 May 1984 during Operation Meghdoot in Siachen. In the snow storm, 19 people were buried in Operation Meghdoot. Out of which the bodies of 14 jawans were recovered, but the bodies of five jawans could not be found. After which the army had informed in Chandrashekhar’s house that he had died due to a snow storm. Chandrashekhar, who was martyred in Operation Meghdoot, was cremated 38 years ago. Both his daughters were very young. The family had performed the last rites of Chandrashekhar according to the customs of the mountain, but now after 38 years his body has been discovered in Siachen, which was buried under the snow. After which now his body will reach his house on 15 August Independence Day.

Funeral will be held with military honors: Where he will be cremated with full military honors at Chitrashala Ghat located in Rani Bagh. The family had cremated Chandrashekhar Harbola 38 years ago with the law, but now after 38 years, information about his body has been recovered from the Army Head Quarter. After which the family has once again become emotional.

Family proud of Chandrashekhar’s martyrdom: The tears of Shanti Devi, wife of Chandrashekhar Harbola, have now dried up. Because she knows that her husband is no longer in this world. The only sorrow was that he could not see his face at the last moment. At the same time, his daughter Kavita Pandey said that she was very young at the time of her father’s death. In such a situation, he does not remember the face of his father. Now when his body will reach his house. Only then will you be able to see his face. The grief of his death is with his entire family, but the pride is that he has lost his life to protect the country.

Martyrs were martyred in a snow storm: The relatives of Chandrashekhar Harbola say that he had a posting in Siachen. During Operation Meghdoot, 19 soldiers were killed in a snow storm. Out of which the bodies of 14 soldiers were discovered by the army, but 5 bodies were yet to be found. A day earlier, the body of Chandrashekhar Harbola and another jawan with him was found in the snow of Siachen. The family got information from the army that the body of Chandrashekhar had been found. Whose batch number is 4164584. Now on August 15, his body will be brought to his residence in Paddy Mill. Haldwani Deputy District Magistrate Manish Kumar told that the body is expected to reach by late evening on August 15. After which his last rites will be performed with military honors at Ranibagh Chitrashila Ghat.
