Uttarakhand / Roorkee : Brother-in-law tried to rape, husband and bridegroom asked for 10 lakhs in dowry

Due to non-fulfillment of the demand of Rs 10 lakh in dowry, the husband and in-laws harassed the married woman mentally and physically. Not only this, the brother-in-law tried to rape the married woman. The police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim. police is investigating the case.
The victim gave a complaint to the police
In the Tahrir given to the Gangnahar Kotwali police, the victim, a resident of Roorkee, told that on September 2, 2020, husband Amit resident of Saharanpur had died.
Suralis asked for 10 lakhs in dowry
After this, her maternal and in-laws together got her married to brother-in-law on 10 December 2020. Everything was normal for some days. After this her second husband and in-laws suddenly started demanding Rs 10 lakh. The parents could not fulfill this demand.
Allegation of physical abuse
Due to which her husband and in-laws harassed her mentally and physically. He was assaulted. Not only this, one day her husband’s younger brother i.e. brother-in-law also tried to rape her. Somehow he saved himself.
Threatened to keep his mouth shut
When she told this to her husband and other in-laws, they threatened to keep her mouth shut instead of doing anything. After that he started bothering more.
In-laws accused of stealing
Started asking to bring 10 lakh rupees from the maternal home. Distraught, she came home. When she went to her in-laws’ house again, the locks of her room were broken. All the valuables were missing. The victim alleges that her in-laws have done this theft.
Police is investigating the matter
Ganganahar Kotwali in-charge Inspector Aishwarya Pal said that four including the victim’s husband, brother-in-law have been named in the case. All these accused are residents of Mandi police station area of Saharanpur. The matter is being investigated.
