Vartika Joshi, who traveled the world by Tarani boat, welcomes Rishikesh on retirement

Indian Navy Medal awardee Lieutenant Commander Vartika Joshi was given a rousing welcome in the pilgrimage town of Rishikesh on his retirement.

Led Sagar Parikrama Expedition Team

In 2017, Vartika went around the world with a six-member crew leading the important Navika Sagar Parikrama expedition team of the Indian Navy.

Navy officer was made in the year 2010

Vartika Joshi, a resident of Agrasen Nagar, became a naval officer in the year 2010. Vartika achieved great achievements in her tenure of more than a decade.

Whirled the world by sail boat

In the year 2017, a six-member team of women officers of the Indian Navy had circumnavigated the whole world in the sail boat INSV (Indian Naval Sailing Vessel) Tarani. This first of its kind campaign in the world was successfully led by Vartika Joshi.

Has been honored with many awards
For this, Vartika Joshi has been honored with Navy Medal, Adventure Khel Award, Nari Shakti Puraskar and many other awards.

Grand welcome on retirement
Vartika Joshi has now returned home after retiring. He was given a grand welcome by Agrasen Municipal Society. The president of the society, former director of higher education Dr. NP Maheshwari and social worker Dr. Raje Negi retired and welcomed Loti Vartika with a wreath, shawl and presenting Bhagavad Gita.

On this occasion, Vartika’s father retired Professor Pradeep Joshi, mother Professor Alpana Joshi, Dilbar Singh Rawat, Dr. Gaurav Bhalla, VP Singh, Sandeep Saxena, SC Gupta, Neha Bhalla, AK Singh, JP Bahukhandi, Hari Prasad Kaptiyal, BR Guliani, Ankur Tiberwal etc. were present.

254 Days Journey of Challenges in Sagar
Under the leadership of Vartika Joshi, resident of Pauri district of Uttarakhand, six women officers of the Indian Navy had illuminated the name of India in the world by completing the journey of three oceans, four continents and five countries in 254 days. Apart from Vartika Joshi, Lieutenant Payal Gupta (Dehradun), Lt. Commander Pratibha Jamwal (HP), Lt. Commander P Swati (Andhra Pradesh), Lt. Vijaya Devi (Manipur) and Lt. B Aishwarya (Telangana).
