Nainital Police has achieved great success under the campaign being run against drugs. Haldwani Kotwali Police has recovered a large consignment of smack. On the other hand, Sultanpur outpost police of Luxor has also arrested a smack smuggler. 19.20 grams of smack, a scale and cash worth about six thousand rupees have been recovered from the arrested smack smuggler.

350 grams of smack recovered in Haldwani: Giving information, SP Crime Jagdish Chand said that the police and SOG had conducted a checking operation near Gaulapar Teenpani on the information of the informer. During this, 350 grams of smack has been recovered from two bike riders. The arrested smugglers are residents of Bareilly and Badaun districts of Uttar Pradesh, who used to work as masons living in Haldwani. The value of the caught smack in the international market is being told to be Rs 35 lakh. During interrogation, both the smugglers told that they used to bring smack from Bareilly and supply it to Haldwani. A bike has also been recovered from the accused. Due to which smack was being smuggled. The name of the arrested accused is Asharfilal, who is a resident of Mirganj, Uttar Pradesh, while the second accused Shiv Kumar Kashyap is a resident of Dataganj, Badaun.

According to the police, a total of 106 cases of drug abuse have been registered in Nainital district from January to July 31 this year. In which 3.916 kg smack, 19 kg 696 g 69 mg charas, (3) 117.971 kg ganja, 3083 narcotic injection 60 siranji, 541 g heroin have been recovered from the possession of 137 people.

19.20 grams of smack recovered in Laksar: Sultanpur outpost police of Luxor has also arrested a smack smuggler (Charas smuggler arrested in Laksar). The name of the arrested smack smuggler is Mahfooz, who is a resident of Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. 19.20 grams of smack, a scale and cash worth about six thousand rupees have also been recovered from the possession of the accused. Police have registered a case under relevant sections and sent the accused to jail. Hemendra Singh Negi Police Officer, Laksar told that last evening Sultanpur outpost in-charge Manoj Nautiyal was checking on the Begum bridge, during which the police team stopped and searched a young man on suspicion. After which smack, electronic scales and cash worth about 6 thousand rupees have been recovered from his possession. Police arrested the accused and brought him to Kotwali.
