Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Cloudburst created chaos, two houses were grounded

In the early hours of Saturday, two houses came to the ground in the debris after a cloudburst over Gwad village of Jaunpur block. Seven people of the same family were buried under the rubble. The villagers pulled out two bodies from the rubble after hard work. The operation is on to trace the remaining five people. The incident has created a ruckus in the village.
The cloud burst after torrential rain in the Kumalda region at around 2 am on Saturday. After the cloudburst, many houses and farms were ruined due to the heavy debris coming from the hill. Two houses were also demolished in Gwad Naame Tok of Tholagiri Gram Panchayat. Village head Arvind Singh Rawat told that when people did not see the house of Rajendra Singh and Kamand Singh at 6 in the morning, they were stunned. The incident was not known due to heavy rain and power outage during the night. After this the villagers started the rescue operation.
Electricity poles, drinking water lines and roads were also broken
The village head told that Gwad Tok is at a distance of about eight km from Dhaulagiri village. The bodies of Rajendra Singh (35) and his wife Sunita Devi (31), who were buried under the rubble, were retrieved at around 12 noon. Rajendra Singh’s cousin Kamand Singh (40), his wife Rukmani Devi (35), daughter Bina (17), son Sachin (15) and mother Magan Devi (60), who lived in the second house, could not be traced despite many efforts. had got. The village is at a distance of 4 km by road. In such a situation, there is a problem in reaching the village. Electricity poles, drinking water lines and roads have also been broken.
SDM Laxmiraj Chauhan said that Kanungo Vijay Patwal, Revenue Sub-Inspector Yashpal Negi had reached Gwad village at 9 in the morning after getting the information. Rescue is being conducted to search the missing people.
After being hit by the debris, there was not even a trace of both the houses left. Rajendra Singh and Kamand Singh used to do farming and labor in the village itself. Pradhan Arvind Singh Rawat told that Rajendra Singh has two children. Daughter Anshika (11) and son Siddharth (9) study with aunt in Raipur. Both the houses were seven-eight hundred meters away from five-six other families of Gwad village. The incident was not known to the public due to heavy rain and cloudburst during the night. When I saw the scene there in the morning, everyone’s eyes were torn apart. The happiness of two families was eclipsed in an instant.
