Uttarakhand / Kashipur : Administration alert due to movement of leopard in residential areas

People are scared, scared due to the movement of leopard in many residential areas of the city. To make such people fear-free, SDM Abhay Pratap Singh along with forest workers inspected the areas like Kaushambi, Dronasagar Tila, Manpur Road, Prabhu Vihar, Girital etc. He instructed the residents to be careful and forest personnel to be prepared.
Leopards were sighted by many people from Girital area towards Court Road canal on the intervening night of 16 and 18 August. Court Road resident Ajit Goyal also informed the SDM. Therefore, calling the forest and revenue personnel, the SDM checked the CCTV footage in many houses. During this, he walked along with the forest department personnel and asked the citizens to take precautions. Especially young children were asked to take special precautions.
The SDM instructed the forest personnel to be fully prepared to monitor and be careful. Therefore, the forest personnel also patrolled near the bushes growing in the vacant plots. On the other hand, Municipal Commissioner Vivek Rai said that there are many vacant plots in the area in which tall grass has grown. A notice will be issued after collecting the names and addresses of such plot owners. In this plot owners will be asked to cut the bush.
On seeing the leopard, a young man came on a bike and ran away on foot
Bajpur. The youth, who came on a bike in the village of Hassan (Rampur) in UP’s village on the state border, fled on foot after seeing the leopard. Chandrapal Saini, a resident of Maheshpura village of Bajpur, had gone to Hassan’s Majra village on Thursday evening to collect saplings of Manthe. During this time he saw three leopards near the stone crusher. When a leopard tried to attack him, the nearby people reached the spot after making noise. Chandrapal told that he left the bike and ran away on foot. Villagers said that since last week a leopard was seen roaming in the area along with two children. Despite giving information, the forest department is not catching the leopard.
