Uttarakhand : Yamunotri Highway remained blocked for the fourth day

Due to incessant rains in the district, the Yamunotri Highway has been blocked for four days due to landslides near Dharasu. On the Gangotri highway here, the movement was stalled for hours on Saturday. In the afternoon, the BRO opened the Gangotri Highway for traffic with hard work. On the third day in Dharasu, the Gangotri Highway had to be closed for movement after every two hours. Due to which the local people had to face a lot of trouble.

Landslide occurred near Dharasu due to heavy rains in Uttarkashi on Friday evening. Due to which the Yamunotri Highway was closed again after opening for some time. The Yamunotri Highway has been closed for traffic for four days due to landslides here. Due to which the passengers are facing a lot of difficulties. Movement on Gangotri Highway is affected due to the continuous falling of stones from the hill in Dharasu. Traffic on the highway had to be stopped after every two hours after 10 am on Saturday by the police administration. This is being done due to continuous debris falling from the upper end of Yamunotri Highway. Due to the continuation of the rain, it will take time for the Yamunotri Highway to open in Dharasu. Due to which the movement on Gangotri highway will also continue to be affected due to debris. The Gangotri highway remained closed for hours in Helgugad due to overnight rains, but was opened at around 8.30 am. The situation of landslides has remained constant on the highway near Bandarkot. However, shortly after being closed in the morning, traffic was started from the highway in Bandarkot.
