Himachal Pradesh / Mandi : Destruction due to rain, 8 family members killed, bodies of children found wrapped around mother’s chest

Rain continues to wreak havoc in Himachal. Floods caused by rain caused painful death of 8 people of the same family in Kelakshan area of ​​Mandi district. Police have recovered the bodies of all.

It is being told that when the police broke the house where 8 people died, their eyes became moist when the police broke it to remove the dead body.  The mother lying dead on the bed was holding the children to her chest.  Seeing this scene, everyone started crying.  However, the police stopped the people from going there.

Mandi DC Arindam Choudhary said that there has been a lot of damage due to rain and landslides at many places in the district.  He told that when the family wreaked havoc in Kashan area, the rescue team could not reach them on time due to landslides all around.  The villagers also tried to save the family.  But no one could save them.

Death of Pradhan and his family

At present, all the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.  Those killed include the family of village head Khem Singh and his younger brother.  According to the information, due to heavy rain, debris fell on his house.  Due to this, 8 lives present in the house were buried in the rubble itself.

The incident is of Jhadon village at 2 o’clock on Friday night. At that time Pradhan Khem Singh, wife, children, his sister-in-law, two children of brother and his father-in-law were present in the house. 8 people including children who slept deeply on the bed were killed in such a way.  Suppressed that he might not have even got a chance to think that if this happened to him, what happened.

It is being told that Jhabe Ram, brother of Pradhan Khem Singh, had gone to Kullu for contracting apples at the time of the accident.  Whereas, his parents had gone to Siraj area with goats.

Seeing the horrific scene of this incident in Jhadon village, everyone’s eyes filled with tears.  While the administrative staff was trying to find the dead bodies buried under the rubble, the eyes of hundreds of people were waiting that all the people buried under the debris might come out safely.  But God had something else approved.  After the rescue operation, which started at 3 in the morning, ended at 1 in the afternoon, the dead bodies lying on the bed were taken out in turn from among the rubble.

First the bodies of the wife and children of Pradhan Khem Singh’s brother were found. Then the bodies of Pradhan and his wife were found. After this two sons of Pradhan were found and finally the body of Pradhan’s father-in-law was found buried under the rubble. After 8 people died.  Along with the family, the villagers are also in a bad condition.

Let us tell you, during the tenure of Jairam Sarkar, Kashan Panchayat was formed after separating from Sayanj.  Its first election was contested by Khem Singh and he became the first head of Kashan Panchayat.
