Rakesh Tikait detained by Delhi Police, later released; Was going to Jantar Mantar to meet the protesters

Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who was going to meet the protesters of the unemployed union, was briefly detained by the Delhi Police on Sunday. However, according to the information, he has been released later. The police had taken the farmer leader to Madhu Vihar police station. Special CP Law and Order Dipendra Pathak had also said that Tikait would be released shortly after he was taken into custody. Rakesh Tikait had tweeted that, ‘Delhi Police working at the behest of the government cannot suppress the voice of farmers. This arrest will bring a new revolution. This struggle will continue till the last breath. # will not stop # will not get tired # will not bow down.’

At the same time, batches of farmers have started reaching Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for demonstration. In Bahadurgarh, adjacent to Delhi’s Tikri border, farmers have started reaching Punjab by sitting in a train. Many farmers belonging to the Bharatiya Kisan Union Siddupura reached Bahadurgarh by sitting in the train coming from Firozpur. The farmers say that they have spent 13 months on the Tikri border, so first they will go to the place where they agitated, after that they will go to Delhi today and will give a memorandum to the President by protesting at Jantar Mantar on Monday.

The farmers say that the government has violated their promise. Electricity bill 2022 was brought without talking to farmer organizations, due to which a conspiracy has been hatched to end the cheap electricity available to the farmers. At the same time, MSP was also not given to them nor justice has been done to the farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri. The farmers say that they have not yet come to put up a firm front on the Delhi border. Have just come for a day’s performance. So that, the government can be warned.

The farmers said that if needed, they will again put up a firm front in Delhi, but will not come in hiding and will come openly telling the government. At the same time, Delhi Police has become active only after the arrival of farmers in large numbers. Cemented barricades have been collected at Tikri border of Delhi. The road has narrowed. Checking of vehicles has also been started, so that farmers can be stopped from gathering crowd in Delhi. For this, Delhi Police is also holding a meeting with Haryana Police.
