Uttarakhand / Dehradun : The house was destroyed in the disaster, many tolas are being searched for gold in the rubble

The world remains on hope. This line fits perfectly on the spirit of Kuldeep, a resident of Sarkhet.
In the natural calamity in Chamroli-Sarkhet area, where most of the people are desperate after losing everything, Kuldeep Singh was searching for his deposits of nine tola gold on Sunday. But, instead of the house, debris was visible far and wide. They hope that gold will definitely be found when the debris is removed.
All the ornaments were kept inside a cupboard in the house
According to Sarkhet resident Kuldeep Singh, they were married one and a half years ago. His wife had some Tola gold ornaments and a few days ago the daughter had an annaprashan, in which some ornaments were found from the maternal side of the girl child. He had kept all these ornaments inside a cupboard in the house.
His house got buried in the rubble in Friday night’s disaster. On Saturday, he and his father-in-law have been searching for the jewellery, after they found a part of the cupboard when the debris was a little less. However, they are likely to get the gold only after the debris is completely cleared.
Kuldeep came to Dehradun on the day of disaster
Kuldeep told that on Saturday he had his B.Ed paper in Dehradun. For this, he came to his relative’s house in Dehradun on Friday. Disaster struck that night. In such a situation, he reached Sarkhet without giving the paper on Saturday.
There was only debris visible instead of the house. His entire house was buried under the rubble. At first he wandered here and there in search of his loved ones, then came to know that the family had taken shelter in a school.
Then he heaved a sigh of relief. According to Kuldeep, after hearing the noise in the midst of the disaster, the relatives became alert and left the house and went to a safe place. The stones on which happiness rested became marks of pain.
Till yesterday, where the earth was the abode of happiness of the whole family inside the stone walls, who knows that in a moment the house turned into a pile of rubble like straw.
After the disaster, now in Sarkhet PPCL, only the signs of the ruined houses are left among the stones. The river showed such a fierce form that it took whatever road came on its way towards the village.
By reaching here, no one can tell that there have ever been any houses at this place. A day after the disaster, broken machines, empty tin boxes, adornment boxes, copies of children’s books, household documents, utensils, clothes, shoes and slippers of family members are seen on top of the stones.
Everyone in Sarkhet PPCL has tears in their eyes. Over the years, the houses of the people living here have completely turned into a pile of rubble.
The animals got washed away in the river and the lower rooms are full of debris. The fields with which he was earning his livelihood have either been washed away or have become debris in them. The road to Ghantu Ka Sera village above Sarkhet PPCL is also closed. People are buried under two houses here. Locals are extending their helping hand to each other. Debris entered two schools
There are two schools in Sarkhet and Sarkhet PPCL. One of these is primary and the other is junior high school. Debris is entrenched in both the schools. Due to the busy life, it is not known when the schools will resume in the area. The problem of food has also arisen in front of the villagers.
