For the last three days, the electricity supply system in the Srikot Ganganali area of the Municipal Corporation has derailed. Power supply is stalled for hours at many places. In the hot and humid weather, people are unable to sleep at night without electricity. At the same time, the work in the post office is also affected due to lack of electricity.
Power supply disturbances started in the Srikot area from Sunday morning. Here in some areas the power went out after the voltage went down. After this the energy corporation started looking for the fault. At around 9 pm on Monday night, a transformer near the gas godown also blew up, disrupting the power supply of a large part.
YS Tomar, Executive Engineer, Electricity Distribution Division, said that a new power transformer was installed till 11 am on Tuesday, but there is frequent power interruption in other parts. The distribution line of the corporation has also been checked. There is no error in them. Now looking at the home line. The supply of other areas including Srinagar was also disrupted due to grid failure at around 1.15 pm on Monday night. The supply was restored when the grid returned to normal at around 4.30 am.
