National Conference will field candidates on every seat in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, split in Gupkar Alliance

With the removal of Article 370 implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, the central government had reorganized the state. The full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir was abolished and given the status of a union territory. Assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir  Fragrance has started. The work of delimitation has been completed, while now the Election Commission is also in active mode regarding elections in the state.

Amidst the activism of the Election Commission, now the political parties of Jammu and Kashmir are also seen to be active.  Political parties have also started brainstorming on alliances with the assessment of profit and loss and equations.  Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the National Conference of Dr Farooq Abdullah, the main political party of the state, has made a big announcement regarding the assembly elections.

The National Conference has announced that the party will field its candidates in all 90 seats of the Union Territory in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.  With this announcement of the National Conference, the dissolution of the Gupkar Alliance is considered certain.  The National Conference was a major constituent of the Gupkar, a grouping of five parties.  The Gupkar Alliance was formed to restore Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

It is worth noting that the Gupkar group had contested the election of the District Development Council together. Then Sajjad Gani Lone’s party People’s Conference was also a constituent of the Gupkar group. At the time of the election of the District Development Council, all the constituents of the Gupkar group contested together.  After this it was believed that the Gupkar group would also fight the assembly elections together.

Let us inform that National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah had earlier made it clear that the Gupkar group will fight the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir together.  Apart from the National Conference, a similar statement had also come from the PDP.  However, now in the changed circumstances, the National Conference has announced to contest the elections alone.
