Goa Police arrests Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Vasi in Sonali Phogat murder case

Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Vasi have been arrested by Goa Police in connection with the murder of Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat. Deputy SP Jiva Dalvi gave this information to news agency PTI. According to an official, Sonali’s post-mortem report has found several injury marks on her body. The cause of Sonali’s death has not been given in the report. The viscera and tissue have been sent for further examination. The post-mortem report said that several injury marks were found all over his body and the investigating officer has been asked for further investigation. Goa Police has registered a case of murder in this case. Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhbinder, both from Sonali’s staff, Sudhir is her PA. Sonali’s family had made many allegations against Sudhir himself.

Sonali Phogat’s postmortem report

In this case (the CCTV footage of the hotel and Sonali’s mobile has been confiscated. Apart from this, the hotel staff is being interrogated. The questioning of the suspects is also going on. When Sonali Phogat reached Goa on August 22, Sangwan and Vasi accompanied her. It is worth mentioning that Sonali Phogat, a resident of Hisar in Haryana, had suffered a suspected heart attack, after which she was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Anjuna, North Goa district on Tuesday morning. She was declared brought dead in the hospital. After this, the police had registered a case of unnatural death. The hospital had already formed a committee of two forensic experts to conduct the post-mortem.

Phogat’s brother Dhaka had lodged a complaint with the Goa Police that he was murdered by two of his sister’s associates. Sonali’s brother Rinku Dhaka had on Wednesday claimed that she was murdered by two of her sister’s accomplices. Rinku had said that the family would allow the postmortem only after the Goa Police registers an FIR against both the persons.
