Hemant has been accused of misusing the post. The decision of the Election Commission is binding on the Governor. The BJP had complained to the governor about illegal allotment.
A complaint was made against Hemant Soren for taking a stone quarry on lease in Angada, Ranchi, while being the Chief Minister. BJP had submitted a memorandum to Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais in February 2022, alleging that Hemant Soren, while in the post of Chief Minister, got the stone mining lease allotted in his name at Angada in Ranchi.
The hearing in the matter was held by the Election Commission which concluded on Monday. His opinion was sent to Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais on Tuesday. Sources said that the next day the Governor’s office has received this report. At the same time, MP Nishikant Dubey also tweeted today that the letter of the Election Commission has reached the Raj Bhavan.
