Suspended Telangana BJP leader T Raja arrested again after getting bail

Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh has been arrested again after getting bail. Earlier today, Raja Singh today released a video about the ‘communal atmosphere of the state’ despite the court’s ban. In this, he targeted two ministers KT Rama Rao and Mehmood Ali, besides MP Asaduddin Owaisi and comedian Munawwar Farooqui.

In the video, he said, “The police in Telangana is a puppet in the hands of Asaduddin Owaisi.” Raja accused the protesters of targeting religious places, saying, “Hyderabad MP Owaisi’s supporters are allowed to throw stones… No FIR, no arrest.” His reference was apparently to his opposition to his comment on the Prophet Muhammad.

In today’s video, Raja Singh said that the atmosphere in Telangana is polluted today due to the actions of Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao (‘KTR’) and Home Minister Mahmood Ali. KTR is an atheist and does not believe in any religion. His party does Muslim vote bank politics with AIMI’s Owaisi.

Raja Singh said, “Let me tell you the reason for the communal tension in Telangana. There is a stand-up comedian named Munawwar Farooqui, three months ago we got his show canceled in Hyderabad with the help of the police.”

Referring to the August 20 show, he said, “This comedian then contacted KTR on Twitter…KTR invited him and gave police protection. I was arrested. Deploying 5,000 policemen including four IPS officers.” He successfully organized the event,”
Raja Singh said, “KTR allowed Munawwar Farooqui to make jokes about our God… while Ram Bhakts were thrashed outside.”

Suspended BJP MLA said, “I told DGP, Commissioner that such comedians who make objectionable remarks against our God should not be allowed in the program.” “But KTR’s ego has come in the way…these people play the Muslim vote bank card,” he said.
Raja Singh, who was suspended by the BJP over his earlier videos, said, “I will tell my party that I was not targeting any religion but individuals.”

Significantly, after his arrest, BJP had said that Raja Singh’s view on this matter was different from the party’s stand. The party’s Central Disciplinary Committee had said the same thing in its notice. Raja Singh said in the new video, “I have taken the risk of appearing before you today. The court has directed me not to speak to the media but the situation has compelled me to do so today.” He accused the national media channels of presenting the matter in a different context from the facts.

What next? When asked about this, he said, “I will fight the court legally.” Raja Singh was granted bail hours after his arrest by the Hyderabad Police on Tuesday, while protests broke out in parts of the city throughout the night against his remarks. He is accused of hurting religious sentiments and promoting enmity.
