Uttar Pradesh / Prayagraj : Advocates of Allahabad High Court will not do judicial work even today
After meeting again on Wednesday evening, the Allahabad High Court Bar Association has decided to abstain from judicial work on Thursday as well. Earlier on Wednesday morning, the advocates stood in front of the High Court and did not allow anyone to enter the premises. On the other hand, the judges came and sat in their respective courts at 10 o’clock in the morning but due to the protest of the lawyers, they got up and left. As a result, there was no business in the court.
Advocates are angry over the undue delay in the admission of cases, non-redressal of various problems including new cases, non-listing of supplementary and unlisted cases. The lawyers held a meeting on Wednesday evening under the leadership of Radhakant Ojha, president of the High Court Bar Association. In this, the problems related to lawyers were discussed and brainstormed. It was said that the problems of the advocates were discussed with the Chief Justice and other justices many times in six months but the problems remain as they are.
The Speaker said that 10 to 15 days are being taken unnecessarily for the admission of cases. All the process of listing conducted by NIC is badly demolished. Vakalatnama, counter-affidavit are also not coming on record immediately. There is a problem of not getting the messages of cases on time.
The office bearers of the association also objected to the reduction in the number of judges. Said that only 100 justices are functioning as against 160. The officials said that the remaining posts of judges should be appointed immediately. He warned that there would be a strong protest if their demands were not met. General Secretary Satyadhir Singh Jadoun said that if the problems are not resolved, then the movement will be given a more widespread form. Manoj Kumar Mishra, Neeraj Kumar Tripathi, Dharmendra Singh Yadav, Satyam Pandey, Shyama Charan Tripathi, Yadavesh Yadav, Ashutosh Tripathi, Ushma Mishra etc. were present in the meeting.
