After the scandal in the recruitment of Uttarakhand Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (UKSSSC), now the issue of backdoor 72 recruitments in the Vidhan Sabha has again come into the limelight. Premchand Agrawal, who was the Speaker of the Assembly, had got these recruitments done from the backdoor and later on becoming the Finance Minister, these recruitments were also approved.
PROs and relatives of many leaders have got jobs here. As soon as the foundation of the assembly formation in Uttarakhand was laid, the game of backdoor recruitment had started. Backdoor recruitments were made in the assembly during the tenure of Prakash Pant, who was the first speaker, to Yashpal Arya, Harbansh Kapoor, Govind Singh Kunjwal and Premchand Agarwal.
However, some have made bumper recruitments in limited numbers. In the same year, even before the code of conduct for the assembly elections, the process of 72 recruitments was started through the backdoor during the tenure of the then president Premchand Agarwal, but then the process of appointment was stuck due to the screw of the finance department.
In the second term of the BJP government, as soon as Premchand Agrawal got the finance department on March 29, the next day the related file got the green signal. Sources said that in these recruitments, close people of most of the leaders have been given jobs.
158 recruitments took place during Kunjwal’s time
During the Congress tenure, Govind Kunjwal, who was the Speaker of the Assembly, also did bumper 158 backdoor recruitments on the go. The special thing is that jobs were distributed to most of the people from a particular area. Then BJP leaders had raised the issue of transactions in these recruitments, but there was no impact on the recruitments.
Now will there be an inquiry into the recruitments in the Vidhan Sabha as well?
Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has set up an inquiry into the recruitment examinations of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Selection Commission, in which complaints of rigging have been received. In the BJP government itself, the rules and regulations were flouted in the backdoor recruitments of the assembly. Even before the recruitment notification was not issued. Now the question is arising whether CM Dhami will now get these recruitments also investigated.
I have not spoken of corruption in any recruitment in the Vidhan Sabha. During my tenure in the Vidhan Sabha, recruitments were made as per the rules when there was a need for employees. All these recruitments are on temporary basis.

The list of 72 employees appointed in the assembly during the time of the BJP government has gone viral. On Saturday, a large number of people shared this list through Facebook and WhatsApp. In this, questions have been raised on the recruitment done during the previous BJP government as well as the names of relatives of BJP and Congress leaders have also been raised.
Many users wrote on Facebook whether the government would also get the backdoor recruitments done in the Vidhan Sabha to be investigated. And will these recruitments also be cancelled? Many users have written that the relatives of BJP and Congress leaders have got jobs in the assembly, so there is no question of investigation here.

There is also talk of conducting the recruitment examination for 33 posts in the Vidhan Sabha from RMS Technosolution Pvt Ltd, who was caught in the recruitment examinations of Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission. According to sources, more than eight thousand candidates were sitting in the examination conducted by the Vidhan Sabha and the services of this agency were taken for conducting the examination. However, it is being told that the result of this exam has not been released yet.
