Bihari Mahasabha celebrated Hartalika Teej with gaiety, distributed symbols of honeymoon, time of fasting, worship method and importance

Hartalika Teej Mahotsav was celebrated with gaiety by Bihari Mahasabha Matri Shakti at Rajpur Road Shiv Bal Yogi Ashram in Dehradun. The program of Haritalika Teej was organized by the Mahasabha Matrishakti. Religious songs were presented in the program and the symbol of honeymoon was distributed to the married people, the program coordinators were Priyam Shankar Jha and Khushboo Singh. Bihari Mahasabha will be done every year by Mahila Shakti, this year was the first attempt in which many core committees were formed for the preparation. The preparations for Haritalika Teej were going on for a long time and the women of Bihari Mahasabha were working for the last 15 days for its outline.

Mainly five cells were made in the program, in which Monika Singh and Vandana Giri were engaged to welcome the guests. Convenor Priyam Shankar Jha and Khushboo Singh were looking after the arrangements for the sports competition. Chhaya Sinha and Chhaya Sinha in the folk dance competition. Apart from Bina Shamil, Bandana Giri, Priya Singh and Roopam were mainly looking after the arrangements for the Mehndi event. Rekha Srivastava Amrita and Moni Sinha were mainly involved in the arrangement of refreshments.

Speakers in the program said that for the long life of their husbands, married women observe a Nirjala fast on Hartalika Teej. On this day women and girls worship Gauri-Shankar.

Fasting and worship

According to the pundits, this time the festival of Haritalika Teej has brought a very happy coincidence. This time Tritiya Tithi will start from 5.00 am on 4th September. Therefore, women and girls observing the fast can do sargi before this. Apart from this, the right time to worship is from 6.04 pm to 8.34 pm in the evening. The worship performed during this time will be considered beneficial.

Importance of Haritalika Teej Vrat

This time on Haritalika Teej, there is a coincidence of Chaturthi and Hasta Nakshatra along with Tritiya and such a coincidence is believed to fulfill every wish of the fast. The more difficult it is to perform this puja, the more difficult it is to keep the fast. Because this fast is also kept without water. Haritalika Teej is celebrated with great pomp in North India. It is believed that the good fortune of the married women who observe this fast remains unbroken and she gets the support of her husband for seven births.

How to worship, know the method of worship

The fast of Haritalika Teej is also observed by staying fast and waterless. Women and girls offer fruits to Lord Shiva after bathing him with Gangajal, curd, milk, honey etc.
During the night, Shiva and Parvati are worshiped in the houses by making flowers decorated with beautiful clothes, flowers and leaves. Gaura Parvati is found in the major markets of the village and the city. This form of Parvati ji is worshiped on Teej. Waking up at 4.00 in the morning, one has to take a bath without saying and then one has to keep a fast for the whole day.

For worship on Hartalika Teej – wet black soil or sand sand, Belpatra, Shami leaf, Banana leaf, Dhatura fruit and flower, Akanv flower, Tulsi, Manjari, Janaiva, Nada, clothes, all types of fruits and flowers, Phulhra (decorated with natural flowers), Suhag material for Maa Parvati – Mehndi, bangle, beech, kajal, bindi, kumkum, vermilion, comb, Mahour, suhag puda etc available in the market, quince, kalash, abir, sandalwood, ghee- Oil, camphor, kumkum, lamp, ghee, curd, sugar, milk, honey etc. for Panchamrit.

History of Hartalika Teej

This fast was first done by Parvati ji before marriage to get Shiva as her husband. That is why this fast has a lot of recognition. It is said that Mother Parvati went to the forest and did heat for many years to get Lord Shiva as her husband. And he did this fast without drinking water continuously. After which Lord Shiva accepted her as his wife. This is a good luck fast of worshiping Shiva-Parvati, which is considered extremely virtuous and fruitful for women.
