Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the officials of the state government to inform the Chief Minister’s Office without any hesitation in case they do not get the requisite cooperation at the government level. Yogi said this in a review meeting on Saturday evening with senior administrative and police officers posted in all divisions, ranges, zones, police commissionerate and district and vice-presidents of development authorities on law and order, development plans and other major subjects including floods. In the meeting, Yogi ordered the vice-presidents of the development authorities of all the cities in the state to prepare their action plan reports and said that he would soon review the work of everyone and accountability would also be fixed in case of any irregularities in it. In this special meeting held through video conferencing, the Chief Minister asked the development authorities to further improve their working style. Yogi said that applications of public interest should not be kept pending unnecessarily. Every development authority should prepare its future action plan. All necessary efforts should be made for landbank expansion. He said that soon all the development authorities would be reviewed. Financial sanctions for development projects should not be kept pending unnecessarily. The amount to be released should be reviewed at the government level every three days.
In the meeting, he directed to conduct intensive campaign against illegal drug dealers and take legal action with strictness. Yogi said that a big campaign has been started against illegal drug dealers in Uttar Pradesh. Yogi said that earlier there were many sad incidents of untimely death due to poisonous liquor. They should not be repeated. For this, every district magistrate and all the officers from the superintendent of police to the police station will have to understand their responsibility. Yogi said that hookah bars are banned in the state, they should not be operated under any circumstances. With better teamwork, this statewide very important campaign against drug mafia should be carried forward as a big movement from Saturday night.
The Chief Minister said that such anti-social elements who are pushing the youth into the darkness of drugs should be thoroughly investigated. A list of every small and big chaotic elements should be prepared at the police station level. Surprise raids should be conducted on their bases. Increase patrolling around the railway station. Taking strict action with zero tolerance, action should be taken to free the state from drug mafia. Yogi said that on receipt of information about the disturbance, the primary accountability of the police station would be ensured. Negligence in this campaign will not be accepted at all.
Yogi asked to prepare a concrete action plan for medical treatment, counseling and rehabilitation of youth who have been in the grip of drugs due to malpractices. Many voluntary organizations are working in this direction at the local level, with their cooperation, efforts should be made for drug de-addiction. Along with this, children should also be made aware through various means in this direction. The Chief Minister directed all the district administrations not to allow illegal taxi stands, bus stands or rickshaw stands to operate. Such stands encourage illegal extortion. Yogi said that wherever such activities are going on, they should be stopped immediately.
Referring to the flood situation in the state, Yogi said that due to rise in water level in Yamuna and Chambal rivers, normal life is reported to be affected in 18 districts of the state. The water level of Ganga and Betwa has also increased. Although now the water level is decreasing everywhere. He said that the situation of Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ballia Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Mirzapur, Ballia etc. districts should be continuously monitored. Nodal officers should be appointed for the affected areas. Senior officers should continue to camp in the affected areas. The Chief Minister asked the teams of NDRF, SDRF, PAC and disaster management to remain active in the flood affected areas. In this situation, while emphasizing on the need to take help of Aapda Prabandhan Mitra and Civil Defense volunteers as per the requirement, he directed that the District Magistrate should also make arrangements for boats, relief material etc.
