Ration of mid-day meal prepared for children in council schools in UP’s Basti was being taken to be sold in the market, which the villagers caught on the way and made a video of it and made it viral on social media. Instead of preparing food for the children in the school from the ration coming to make mid-day meal in the Sanvilian Vidyalaya located in Baghoda village of Kaptanganj block, the ration is being sold in the markets. This was revealed when the ration was going to the school after loading it on a handcart from the Kotedar of the village. It is alleged that on the way to school, the principal of the school, Om Prakash Upadhyay, sent the ration to be sold at Belsad crossroads of Kaptanganj.
Made a video viral
When the Kotdars of the village reached the school with the register to receive the ration, the ration had not reached the school. The Kotedar started searching for the handcart driver who came with the ration. The villagers caught him near a culvert on the road leading to Belsad, about two kilometers from the school, and when the cart driver was asked about taking the ration here, he told that the principal of the school had asked to take it to Belsad. Villagers made a video of it and made it viral on social media.
Swollen hands and feet
After the video went viral, the officers began to swell and to investigate on the spot, Block Education Officer Kaptanganj Rajesh Kumar reached the school where hundreds of angry villagers also reached. When the Block Education Officer Rajesh Kumar inquired about the transport of ration from the handcart driver, Ram Shankar, the cart driver, told that the Kotdar asked us to take the ration to the school. I was going to school from Kotedar’s house with ration when on the way I met Principal Om Prakash Upadhyay and he asked me to take me to Belsad crossroads instead of taking ration to school.
Headmaster suspended
Not only this, the handcart driver Ramshankar told that, a few days ago, on the behest of the school’s principal, he had taken the ration to the Belsad square for sale. There was also a lot of resentment among the people regarding the matter of ration by the teacher and his language style towards the school teachers and villagers. At the same time, women teachers posted in the school also accused teacher Om Prakash Upadhyay of using abusive language. The woman complained about this to the Block Education Officer among hundreds of villagers. At the same time, the responsible officers in the case are engaged in saving and shaving the accused teacher. BSA Inderjit Prajapati said that the investigation report of the case has been sent to the higher authorities. At present, the accused headmaster has been suspended.
