Uttarakhand / Dehradun : Reiki while collecting garbage during the day and crime in the night, when 100 CCTVs were searched, the hands of the police

For some time, a gang of women thieves is active in Doon, which is targeting sanitary shops. Nehru Colony police station has arrested five female members of this gang.
The accused women used to do recce of shops during the day on the pretext of picking up garbage and at night they used to pass cash and goods by breaking their locks. The accused women, originally from Darbhanga (Bihar), have already gone to jail for theft. Sanitary items worth Rs 2.5 lakh have been recovered from them.
Around 100 CCTV cameras installed around the spot were scrutinized
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Senior Superintendent of Police Dalip Singh Kunwar told that on August 20, the sanitary shop of Vishnu Vihar (Haridwar Bypass) resident Niket Vaish was stolen in the sanitary shop located under the Ajabpur railway overbridge.
For investigation, Inspector Mukesh Tyagi of Nehru Colony police station constituted a team under the leadership of outpost in-charge, bypass Devesh Khushal.
- This team scanned around 100 CCTV cameras installed around the spot.
In this, footage of four women Pooja, Phool Kumari, Shanti Devi and Meena Devi, all residents of Kanwli Road, was also found. - These women were jailed till a few days ago on charges of theft.
- These women were present around Niket’s shop at the time of the incident.
- On Saturday night, the police caught these women on Doon University Road.
- During interrogation, the women confessed to theft.
- Also told that another woman Gudiya resident Kanwali Road was also involved in the theft.
- After this the police arrested the five women.
- Gangster action will also happen
- Cases are also registered against Shanti, Meena, Pooja and Phool Kumari for theft in Premnagar, Nehru Colony and City Kotwali.
- All four had come out of jail on bail a few days back.
- The accused women again indulge in crime sometime after their release from jail. In such a situation, gangster action will be taken against the five accused women.
- The SSP has announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 to the police team that uncovered the theft.
gang robbed in many shops - On 26 July this year, sanitary items were stolen from Devendra Singh Negi’s shop in Nehru Colony area. The same gang was involved in this case as well. Then the police arrested seven female members of this gang, which also included Pooja, Phool Kumari, Shanti and Meena.
Goods worth Rs 3 lakh were recovered from them. Other members of the same gang robbed Harshit Bhatia’s sanitary shop in Premnagar on 29 July 2022. In this case, four women were arrested by the Premnagar police station. Goods worth Rs 2 lakh were recovered from them.
