Uttarakhand : In Khatima 100 families forced to defecate in the open, named Swachh Bharat Mission

Efforts are being made all over the world to achieve complete cleanliness. To accelerate these efforts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2, 2014. Under this, all villages, gram panchayats, districts, states and union territories in the country have made themselves ‘Open Defecation Free’ (ODF) by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, 2019 by constructing more than 100 million toilets. declared. But even today people in Khatima of Uttarakhand are forced to defecate in the open.
100 families of Gurjar community of Haldi Ghera village adjoining UP border of Khatima Vidhan Sabha of Udham Singh Nagar district are compelled to go to open defecation (Lack of toilets in Haldi Ghera village). Due to this, the Swachh Bharat Mission plan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be sabotaging. About 100 Gurjar families, settled for 50 years in Haldi Ghera Gram Sabha of Khatima, are still forced to defecate in the open due to lack of toilets. Prime Minister Toilet Scheme was implemented under Swachh Bharat Mission to make the society clean and build toilets in homes through Swachh Bharat Mission.
Through this, toilets will be built in the homes of those citizens of the country who are suffering from financial crisis. But the villagers allege that two years ago the people of Gurjar community applied for toilets, but due to lack of hearing, even today about 100 families, the total population, more than three hundred people are forced to defecate in the open. Villagers say that due to rain, there is a danger of wild animals due to open defecation.
