Freed from Congress, Modi’s minister gave this offer to “Ghulam Nabi Azad”

Union Minister and Republic Party of India (Athawale) President Ramdas Athawale on Monday said that Ghulam Nabi Azad, who recently quit the Congress, should work with the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre. Ramdas Athawale said that under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress is rapidly losing its popularity and many leaders are leaving the party.
“After leaving the Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad has now got ‘freedom’,” he told reporters here, adding that “most” leaders of the Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir would accompany Azad. He said, “I want to appeal to Ghulam Nabi Azad that you come to our NDA. You should come to the NDA for the development of Jammu and Kashmir or the country. If you have to form a separate party, that is good and you are free to do so, but your party should come to the NDA.”
The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was very emotional on Azad’s departure from the Rajya Sabha. Asked who would become the Congress president, he said if Rahul Gandhi becomes the Congress president, it would be good for the NDA. Athawale said, “I think it will be great for us if Rahul Gandhi ji becomes the president.” He expressed confidence that the BJP and the NDA will come to power with a thumping majority in the 2024 general elections. The minister congratulated the Indian cricket team for their victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup on Sunday.
