Uttarakhand / Rishikesh : Garbage will be removed from the trenching ground from March 8

Councilors and social workers sat on a dharna on Tuesday, the eighth day, for the disposal of garbage from the population area. On Tuesday, the Municipal Commissioner gave a written assurance to start the waste disposal work from September 8. Thereafter the strike was adjourned.

On Tuesday, councilors and social workers stood at the dharna site on Haridwar Marg. Councilor Radha Ramola said that we are protesting to make Rishikesh garbage free. Till the municipal administration does not restart the waste disposal plant at Govindnagar, the agitation will continue. Meanwhile, Municipal Commissioner Rahul Goyal reached the protest site. He gave a written assurance that the waste disposal work would be started from September 8 and the city would be made garbage free by April 2023. On this, everyone agreed and announced the suspension of the dharna.
