10 years imprisonment and 10 crore fine for copying in competitive examinations in Uttarakhand!

Now preparations are being made to make strict laws for recruitment to various government posts in the state. Under this, there can be a provision of imprisonment for five years if caught copying and 10 years in cases of organized copying and fine up to Rs 10 crore. In this regard, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission has sent a proposal to the government, which is being studied by the Personnel Department.
Question about transparency in recruitment examinations
Questions have been raised about transparency in recruitment examinations ever since the paper leak incident came to light in the undergraduate level examination conducted by UKSSSC in Uttarakhand. This has come as a shock to the hardworking and honest youth of the state.
Some time ago UKSSSC sent a proposal to the government to make the recruitment examinations transparent and make laws to prevent cheating in them, so that these youth can get jobs by their hard work and ability. In the proposal of the commission, it has been said that in all the laws made in the state to stop copying, the perpetrators of crime are easily left out. Due to this, copying in recruitment examinations is not being stopped.
Commission suggested for law
The commission has suggested for this law that if a candidate is caught copying through slip, mobile or other means in the recruitment examination, then in such cases a provision of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to one lakh can be made.
- If cases of copying through organized gangs come to the fore in the recruitment examination, then imprisonment of 10 years and fine up to Rs 10 crore can be imposed in such cases.
- Along with this, the cost of conducting the examination from the accused and attachment of property has also been proposed.
- Presently the Department of Personnel is studying this proposal. After that it can be brought to the cabinet.
- Secretary Personnel Shailesh Bagoli said that the proposal is currently being examined. After that a decision will be taken on this.
