Uttar Pradesh: False story of yellow metal idols coming out in the excavation of the field, police uncovered

A young man had fabricated a false story of yellow metal idols being found in the excavation of the field in Mehmudpur of Hasanganj in Unnao district. The farm owner and his sons had bought idols worth Rs 169 online by playing with the faith of the people. After receiving the statement and evidence of the delivery man, the police challaned the father and his two sons for breach of peace.

The false story was exposed in front of the villagers. Ashok Kumar of Mahmudpur had told on Tuesday that when he excavated the field with son Ravi, apart from the idols of Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kubera, Rudraksh, key, coin, turtle, cowry came out in the pit.

The idols were kept in Ashok’s house by the police till the time of investigation. On Wednesday, Ashok, his son Ravi and Vijay reached the field with the idols and started worshiping by putting a tarpaulin for shade. The investigating police questioned the delivery man Gorelal, a resident of the village working in a private courier company.

He told that Ashok’s son Ravi had ordered the box of idols online. Hearing this, it did not take long for the police to understand the matter. SO Anurag Singh reached the village with the team. The SO tightened up and after removing the crowd, took Ashok and his two sons into custody and took them to the police station. After this, all three were challaned under the section of Shantibhag. The SO told that this was done to earn money by luring people.
