According to the developments, on the morning of 23 February 2021, a minor had gone missing from a village in Kapkot. She was 17 years 10 months old. His brother inquired with relatives, but he could not be traced. A message came on his mobile. In which it was written that I have gone far away from you people. you forgive me The message was from the number of Jakh village resident Bhagwat Singh. The family filed a report with the patwari. Patwari arrested the convict from his house on March 5, 2022. The victim was also found near his house. His statements were taken. He told that Bhagwat took him to Haldwani, Delhi and Bangalore. where he was physically abused. Thereafter the matter was transferred to the regular police. Police registered a case in 363, 366A, 376 including POCSO. The victim was pregnant. The DNA test of the convict and the victim was done. Special Public Prosecution Kharak Singh Karki produced the victim in the court and she retracted. The accused refused to accuse him and talked about taking him under pressure. The DNA report showed accused Bhagwat Singh and the victim as biological parents. In the case, Special Court Judge SMDD found Bhagwat Singh guilty of POCSO and sentenced him to 20 years rigorous imprisonment. Also punished with fine of five thousand rupees.
