Iron-steel equal to four Eiffel towers, 30 aircraft can be deployed, these are the specialties of INS VIKRANT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the Navy on Friday. PM Modi will commission this warship in the Indian Navy at 9.30 am at Cochin Shipyard Limited Kochi. The special thing about INS Vikrant is that it is an indigenous warship. The new Ensign of the Navy will be away from the colonial past and will be replete with Indian Maritime Heritage.
4 Iron-steel equal to the weight of the Eiffel Tower
The weight of INS Vikrant is 45000 tonnes. That is, to build it, four times more iron and steel than the weight of the Eiffel Tower in France have been used. Not only this, its length is 262 meters and width is 62 meters. That is, it is equal to two football fields. The first indigenous warship has 76% indigenous equipment. BrahMos missile with a range of 450 km will also be deployed on it. It has 2400 km of cable. That is, the cable can reach from Kochi to Delhi.
30 aircraft can be deployed simultaneously
30 aircraft can be deployed in IAC Vikrant (Indigenous Aircraft Carrier). Apart from this, the MiG-29K fighter jet can also play a role in anti-air, anti-surface and land attack by flying. With this Kamov 31 helicopter can also fly. With Vikrant joining the Navy, India has now joined the countries that have the capability to design and build indigenous aircraft carriers.
The Vikrant has the capability to operate an air wing consisting of 30 aircraft including MiG-29 fighter jets, Kamov-31, MH-60R and multi-role helicopters in addition to Light Helicopters (ALH) and Light Combat Aircraft (LCA). New piloting modes like short take-off butt, rested landing have also been used in it.
Speed is 28 knots (nautical miles)
IAC Vikrant has 14 decks with 2,300 compartments which can carry around 1,500 jawans and to meet their food requirement, its kitchen can make about 10,000 rotis. The warship is fitted with four gas turbines of 88 MW power and has a maximum speed of 28 (knots) knots. It is built at a cost of 20,000 crores. The entire project has progressed in three phases of the deal between the Ministry of Defense and CSL. It was completed in May 2007, December 2014 and October 2019. It is the perfect example of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”, which emphasizes on the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
