Uttarakhand / Pauri : A flood of faith gathered to see the Pandava dance

In the village of Riksal of Chauthan Patti of Thalisain block, a crowd of faith gathered to see the Pandava dance (Dali Festival) which lasted for three days. The auspicious time of this great festival was done by the priests and villagers of the temple with rituals and worship. The program went on throughout the night on the beat of Dhol Damaun. Devotees had darshan of Suryavanshi deities in this Pandava Mandan which lasted all night. Rural girl Rawat told that in this festival associated with unwavering faith and belief, even today childless people come to ask for vows to have children and they definitely get its fruits. Told that thousands of devotees come from Chamoli, Pauri and Almora districts to see this festival. In this worship, along with the Pandavas, Heet, Ghandyal, Latu, Binsar, Maa Nanda, Devradi, Bhairadi, Uprani all the gods and goddesses were invoked. After bathing in the Ganges in the morning, the gods visited the village to protect the village and for alms. During the worship, the deities were felicitated with milk, curd, ghee, cucumber and mungri from every house. At the end of the program, the devotees took farewell by going round and hugging in the temple temple along with the doli (cast) by the incarnated deities and broke their fast in the worship store. Prasad was presented to everyone at the time of farewell.
