Tapovan, the newly formed Nagar Panchayat of Tehri district has started a campaign against single use plastic. On Friday, the NP team challaned seven people and collected a fine of Rs 4400 for spreading garbage. Also instructed not to use polythene.

On Friday, under the leadership of Anil Pant, Executive Officer of Nagar Panchayat Tapovan, the team launched a campaign against single-use plastic. During this, raids were conducted in street vendors and shops. The sudden action of the body caused a stir. During this, the team also took action against those who spread garbage and cut challans. A fine of Rs 4400 was collected from seven people. Executive Officer Pant said that an appeal was made to the shopkeepers and street vendors not to use single-use plastic. Action will be taken on receipt of complaint. Sonu Thapliyal and other employees were present in the team.
